CallBack Verification Door for GAP BBS Version 5
---------------
NOTE: THIS VERSION WORKS WITH GAP VERSION 5 ONLY!
Welcome to the CALLBACK. Now your callers can be verified by your
BBS. CallBack will call users back by modem to verify their phone
number. When they answer, it will ask for their password. If they answer
correctly, their access level will be raised to a predetermined level.
CALLBACK supports com ports opened up to 38400 and as many of them as
you can fit in the machine. This makes CALLBACK easy to set up on a
multi-node system with GAP.
CALLBACK Files
----------------
CALLBACK.EXE <------------------ CALLBACK Program
CALLBACK.DOC <------------------ Sysop's Information
CALLBACK.TXT <------------------ Text Screens Displayed by CALLBACK
REGISTER.DOC <------------------ Registration information
CB.CNF <------------------ Sample Configuration File

TRASH <------------------ Numbers that will not be allowed
PLUSONE <------------------ Prefixes that require a 1 added for dial
VALIDATE <------------------ List of verified user (Created by Prg.)
FILE_ID.DIZ <------------------ Brief File Description
All of these files should be in this ZIP, if they are not, don't
take a chance! Call The Brainex System and get a good copy or view the
file on a few local boards to see if you can find a complete copy.
SETUP
=====
The setup of CALLBACK is simple, all you need to do is create a
directory called CALLBACK for CALLBACK and its files, then copy the
files into that directory. After that you will need to edit a CB.CNF
file for your BBS requirements. Use the sample CB.CNF as a guide.

You will also need to modify your doors menu files and the data
file that tells the BBS what your doors are and the security
level needed to access them. For GAP, these are respectively:
DOORM
DOORMG
DOORS.DAT
Please refer to your BBS documentation for details on
setting up these files.

If you are running multi-nodes, simply create a separate door
configuration file for each node, and number them. For instance,
for a 3 node system, you might have the following configuration
files:
CB1.CNF
CB2.CNF
CB3.CNF
The only difference between the three would be the 1st line which
points to the default directory for the particular node.
Another easy way to add the CALLBACK to GAP is to use Gap's
configuration option to create a SYSOP DEFINED COMMAND (consult Gap's
docs for info on sysop defined commands). On The Brainex System I use
CALLBACK. The batch file to run CALLBACK is named CALLBACK.BAT and placed
in the BBS default directory (C:\GAP). When a caller types CALLBACK at the
main prompt, they are instantly taken to the CALLBACK.
The following files are read during door initialization. They
must be present or the door will not operate.
DOOR.SYS
GAPBBS.CNF
USERS
LOCAL FILE
==========
Place area codes and/or area codes plus prefixes in this file.
If all numbers within your area code are local, you can delete
this file.
Example: Numbers local to 310-275-2344
(310)
(213)
(818)762-
(818)980-
TRASH FILE
==========
CALLBACK automatically detects invalid phone numbers. These include:
BAD AREA CODES, 900 area code, prefixes ending in 11 such as 911.
In addition, you may add specific numbers and area codes to the TRASH
file. Example:
853-
(800)
555-1212
(203)-521-1211
PLUSONE FILE
============
Place numbers in this file that are WITHIN you area code, but require
a 1 before dialing.
Example:
531-
760-
Don't forget the hypen! It tells CallBack Brain that the number is a
prefix...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
